CIMG PAYS COURTESY CALL ON HEAD OF THE CIVIL SERVICE

The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Head of the Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh. The visit was to strengthen institutional collaboration and discuss professional membership within the Civil Service.

Speaking during the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of CIMG, Mr. Kwabena Agyekum, said the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana Act, 2020 (Act 1021) designates CIMG as the sole professional body mandated to regulate, promote, and maintain standards in marketing, commercial practice, and strategic communications in Ghana.

He said closer collaboration with the Civil Service would help build professional capacity among public servants and support the effective delivery of government policies and programmes.

Dr. Aggrey-Darkoh welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of collaboration between public institutions and the private sector, describing such partnerships as essential to achieving sustainable national development.

He noted that strengthening institutional partnerships would enhance innovation, improve service delivery, and contribute to the country’s socio-economic transformation.

The discussions also covered plans to rebrand the Civil Service and strategies to enhance the visibility and public image of both institutions at the national and international levels.

The meeting approved CIMG’s request to participate in the upcoming Civil Service Week celebration. The event is expected to provide the Institute with a platform to engage Civil Service staff on the importance of professional standards in marketing and strategic communications and their role in improving public sector performance’

Present at the meeting were the Chief Director of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service, Mr. Sylvanus Adzornu, Director of Recruitment, Training and Development      (RTD) Dr, Elizabeth Obeng-Yeboah, and senior officers.
