NIGERIA’S FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE PAID A COURTESY CALL ON THE HEAD OF THE GHANA CIVIL SERVICE

A delegation from Nigeria’s Federal Civil Service paid a courtesy call on the leadership of the Ghana Civil Service in Accra on Monday, April 13, 2026. The delegation, led by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Republic of Nigera, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the visit as a step toward strengthening deeper collaboration between the two sister countries’ Civil Service system. The delegation was received by the Head of Ghana’s Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh, the Chief Director, Mr. Sylvanus Adzornu and other senior management of the Ghana Civil Service.

Speaking during the meeting, Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasized the importance of sustained institutional partnerships in addressing common governance challenges across the West African sub-region. She noted that both countries share similar administrative structures, making cooperation not only beneficial but necessary for modernization and efficiency.

The meeting provided a platform for both sides to exchange insights into best practices in public administration. Discussions covered a broad range of issues, including ongoing Civil Service Reforms, digital transformation initiatives, Performance Management systems, application of AI tools, strategies for improving staff welfare, etc. geared towards improving service delivery.

Consequently, Mrs. Walson-Jack extended a formal invitation to the Head of the Ghana Civil Service and his team to participate in the upcoming International Civil Service Conference scheduled for May 20–21, 2026, in Nigeria. The conference is expected to bring together public service leaders, policymakers, and experts from across the globe to discuss emerging trends and innovations in governance.

Among the team of delegates accompanied her were the High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, Dr Funke Adepo, Director-General, Administration of Staff College, Rev. Kennedy Okosuw and other staff the High Commission.
