A TWO DAY E-SPAR TRAINING HELD FOR DIRECTORS AND HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS
Directors and Heads of Departments of the Ghana Civil Service undergone training on the operationalisation of Electronic Staff Performance Appraisal system.
The training exercise which was held for the Human Resource Directors took place on 3rd and 4th of March, 2022 at the Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS). The first day of the workshop was for the Directors from the various Ministries whilst the second day was for the Human Resource Directors in the departments.
The Head of Civil Service, Nana Agyekum Dwamena officially opened the training Sessions. He noted that the E-SPAR which had been introduced would be beneficial and that it had become part of the Performance Appraisal system of the service. According to him this system would be launched together with the OHCS HR facility Portal.
Mrs. Elizabeth Obeng Yeboah, Director RTDD/RCU of the OHCS stated that the new system would feed into the Ghana Civil Service Training Policy and responsibilities for staff. She said it was important to inform OHCS any time an officer wanted to embark on any form of study leave. She noted that the era where officers went on study leave without the knowledge of the OHCS was now a thing of the past.
Mrs. Eunice Osae, Director Career Management Directorate of OHCS charged all Human Resource Managers in the various Ministries and Departments to do well to compile and submit names of Officers who were due for promotion on time so as to enable her office worked on them on time.
Mr. Mark Cobbler, a Deputy Director, OHCS also educated participants about the Notional and Effective dates indicated on promotions letters.
Mr. John Sulemana demonstrated how the E-SPAR which was being introduced into the Service would work.
