The Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS) will begin massive posting in the Ghana Civil Service, this according to the Head of Civil Service, Nana Agyekum Dwamena is aimed at injecting efficiency and professionalism into the Service. “It will also enable workers get all round experience”.

The Civil Service Postings Policy allows for staff to be posted to any Ministries, Departments and Agencies after serving four or five year period in an institution.

“There are some Civil Service Staff who have stayed in a particular Ministry or Department for a very long time and this may be as a result of the benefits such officers derive from that Ministry in question. In the year 2019, these Officers are to embrace themselves to be posted out as per the laws governing the Civil Service”, The Head of Civil Service.

He made this known at the Civil Service Training Centre here in Accra when he addressed Human Resource Directors of the various Ministries Departments and Agencies.

The workshop was held purposely to enable all Human Resource Directors in the Ministries and Departments and Agencies deliberate and strategise on all Human Resource related issues in the year 2019. They also discussed some revised documents such as the training policy and the staff appraisal forms.

One of the major concerns raised at the workshop was the issue of Professionalism. The Head of Civil Service indicated that, professionalism goes beyond the acquisition of certificates to individual attitudes and performance at their fields work.

According to him, linked to Professionalism is the idea of specialization. In as much as Officers ought to upgrade themselves to become better in their respective working environment, they should consider the particular stage at which they would want to specialize. This is to help them make better choices in life as they move further.

The most important resource in every organization is the Human Resource outfits and it happens to be the most important to the progress of the officers and the organization.
